To get a feel for what’s happening on the ground, this production provides a snapshot of the successes, challenges and outcomes in three project locations – Melbourne, NSW South Coast and Northern Adelaide.
Debbie and Matt have just run their first Boori Doctors on the NSW South Coast. This is the third project at their school but they have already put their individual stamp on things.
Shara and Mel have been running Bubup Doctors (Warunjuri) in Victoria for three years. Their Young Doctors have sessions at grades 3-4 levels and in 5-6. They have trained more than 150 Bubups since starting in 2016.
Jenny and El have run several WakWakko Doctor projects and are part of the team delivering more than 20 projects run in South Australia with co-funding from AnglicareSA. Their project is with grade 6-7 levels. El recently accepted a position on Malpa’s board.
Uncle Jack Charles inspires Young Doctors for Life participants in two videos. The first is presented at the beginning of a course and the second is shown at graduation.
Luke Carroll, a Wiradjuri man and renowned actor of stage and screen (think of Play School, Redfern Now and Stoned Brothers and lots in between) hosts a compilation of leaders from three projects and a welcome by our Ambassador Uncle Jack Charles. We are proud to have Luke as a Malpa Ambassador. Deadly.
